Wildlife World Zoo

Matt, Rachel, and I had the chance to go to the Wildlife World Zoo with our friend's preschool class again this year. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and roaming around and the weather was great. Matt and Ray chose to ride the train over all the other rides. While we were on the train a large bird snapped at Rachel. It gave her quite the scare. She jumped over on top of Matthew. Luckily, it happened toward the end of the ride so she was able to enjoy most of it.

Kade the Decorator?

Kade took it upon himself to decorate his walls. He used a combination of Lego magazine pages and his own artwork. Apparently he ran out of wall space and expanded his gallery onto the ceiling.

President's Day at the Park

My family (well, everyone that could) met at the park today to enjoy the beautiful weather and have a picnic. The kids loved playing with their cousins and Aunts and Uncles. It was extra special because Michael, Allison, Adam, Grace, and Joshua were in town. We started over on the playground and ended up at the ball field playing a game of baseball. It was a lot of fun.

Arizona Birthday Party

Arizona turned 100 on February 14th this year. I was in charge of playgroup this week so I decided we'd have a birthday party for Arizona. We played outside enjoying the Climate. For a snack we ate oranges (Citrus) and beef jerky (Cattle). I wanted to do a craft that had pennies (Copper) and Cotton, but I didn't get it ready in time.

Anyway, we also played "Pin the Star on the Flag". 

Then we sang Happy Birthday to Arizona and ate cupcakes.

Matty Turns 4!

Matthew made it to his 4th birthday. He really wanted to go to McDonald's for dinner. Grandma and Grandpa came out to celebrate with us. He opened his presents and then we left for McDonald's. We ate and played in the play area (something our kids rarely get to do). Then, we headed home for some ice cream pizza. Matthew chose a chocolate chip cookie "crust", mint chocolate chip ice cream "sauce", and gummy worms, m&ms, and licorice nibs for his "toppings".

Matthew is so much fun. He loves cars, beyblades, and video games. He loves to play with Rachel, and (usually) Kade.

Playgroup Trip to Fry's

Matthew, Rachel, and I are part of a playgroup with some families from our ward. Over Winter break we took a field trip with all the kids to Fry's. We got to go into the refrigerators where they keep the diary products, the freezers (thankfully we had jackets!), we toured the produce section, and got to eat samples all throughout. The kids' favorite part, though, was playing with the lobsters. Well, the other kids' favorite part my kids didn't even want to touch them. At the end of the tour the kids got hot chocolate and goody bags. They really had a fun time.

Grandma and Grandpa's New Rocks

Grandma and Grandpa got new rocks for their front yard. Like 20 tons of new rocks (or some huge number). They asked Nathan if he would be available to help them spread the rocks around and he agreed. He took the kids so that I could have the day off. The kids loved helping out (though I'm not sure exactly how much help they really were) and they loved playing on the mountains of rocks.
