Monday was a hard day for H. She had been up late Sunday "reading" and was really tired when I woke her up for school. She really wanted to wear a ring that her Grandma E gave her, but it was too big and we were afraid she'd lose it. She was not happy with that decision and cried the whole way to school. She clung to N as she walked her up to her class and he was afraid he'd be bringing her back home.
She got home that afternoon and I was talking to her about her day. I asked her why she had been so sad that morning. She said it was because she missed her dad and didn't want him to leave. I said, "Oh, I thought it was because you wanted to wear your ring." She said it was both of those reasons. N called her over to him and they were talking about it while I went through her backpack. I found a paper that she had practiced writing her name on and on the back she had written, "I mis yue dad." I showed N and he and I both ended up in tears over it.
Today I was talking to Tiffin and she said that Monday when the bus pulled up to the bus stop her kids were excited because they saw N and thought it was their dad. Then H yelled, "No, it's my dad!"
