More From K

Lately we've been focusing on making our prayers a little more meaningful (ie. more than just "please bless the food").

This morning K was saying the breakfast prayer and he blessed himself and H that they would feel better, M that his owie would get better and then he paused. I peeked to see what was going on.

K: Does Dad have a headache?

Me: No.

K: Do you have a headache?

Me: No.

K: Then who has a headache?

Me: No one.

K: Oh.

Then closed his eyes and bowed his head and ended his prayer.

Also this morning. I asked K if he could get M's shoe out from underneath the oven. He told me that the drawer needed to come out so he could get it. N took the drawer out and K was thrilled to discover 5 of his cars under there. He took them all and then informed he that one of them was the "King of the Cool Cars". He was playing with the cool cars and then he said, "Hey. Where's my other car?" I asked which one and he said, "You know. The boring one."

Apparently, this other car didn't make the grade.

Yesterday afternoon I started to wonder if K was getting sick. By the time N got home from work K was pretty hot. N took K's temperature and it was 101. K heard that and exclaimed, "Oh no! I'm going to be dead!"
