The Rule of Threes

I firmly believe that things (usually accidents) happen in threes. It happened in my family growing up all the time. I mean, one day one of my sisters got a cast taken off her arm, another sister got one put on and that night my youngest sisters were born. It was quite a day.

So far we've had this:

And now we can add this:

I think we are going to be very careful for the next little while. Or, maybe we should be reckless and just get number three out of the way.

K's story:

He was climbing on a little table that we have upstairs and he fell off and hit his head on the window sill. It is pretty deep, but I didn't want to go to the ER again so they could glue him shut. I decided to play doctor and I put some liquid bandage and a butterfly on it. Hopefully, it will work and I won't regret my decision.

By the way, does having 5 out of 6 people in my family be sick count as my third thing?

  1. You are SO right about things happening like this. One time, I had to get Ethan's head stitched. Not two days later, the boys were goofing off with their bows and arrows and got the same cut on the forehead. A day later, one brother took the other two by the hands and swung them into each other. We learned quickly the value of steri-strips and taping!

  2. Hopefully Krisit is right and you got a two-for-one when you had to go to the hospital twice with Matthew!

  3. Did you just imply that Kelli and I were accidents?
