The morning started with a trip to Daddy's work. We visited with Pat and others there. Pat has kind of adopted our kids. She loves them and loves to hear about everything they do. I'm not sure if she still has this, but when H was little (like a year-ish) we recorded her laughing and sent it in a phone message to Pat. She saved it on her voicemail forever and would listen to it to brighten her days. This was Pat's first time seeing R in person and she was so excited. She had no idea we were coming which made it all the more fun.
After that we went to Grandma and Grandpa E's house to eat lunch and whittle away about an hour before our next stop.
Our next stop was Ceretta Candy Company. We went on the tour of how they make their chocolates and got to sample some of the sweet stuff. H and K were shy and hid under the table anytime our guide tried to talk to them or give them candy (crazy kids!). They had the opportunity to make sunny-side up eggs and sausage. I say they had the opportunity because only K actually did. H remained too shy to participate. The kids really liked seeing all the different candy they make at Ceretta's and were really sad when we didn't buy any. I really enjoyed seeing the chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick and was really sad when we didn't buy any.
(this is K's newest pose...don't know where he got it, but he thinks it is "handsome")
Finally, tonight after dinner we braved the 90-degree heat and went to the park. K rode his bike (we couldn't convince H to ride hers) and the rest of us walked or strolled. At the park we played ball and frisbee. The kids attempted the monkey bars and they even hung upside down with the help of dad.
Hopefully, the kids will sleep well tonight. We definitely could use a good night's sleep around here.
